Blocking out the Turbine Hall

To start off my turbine hall, I started doing a simple block out of the room. I used simple shapes to rough it out as I had all of my rough measurements wrote down.

I didn't really know what the best approach to this was so though I would start with the main turbine and work outwards. that way i could work everything based on the turbine size as these are pretty massive.

I looked at many reference pictures of the turbines and how they are built up. I couldn't really tell with a picture so I went ahead and watched a series of you tube videos and this broke down the individual parts.

These next images are only showing a block out and are only giving me a feel for the environment.

On the last 2 images, I gave the models a individual colour so the light blue colour represents the beams that hold the building up. The dark blue represents the turbine and pipes that run around the building and so on. I also haven't  put any small detail in this block out such as railings, more pipes and other detailed things.
